Kuala Lumpur stands out as one of the most vibrant cities in Southeast Asia. The iconic Petronas Twin Towers showcase its prosperity as a global metropolis, while ancient religious temples reflect its inclusive and diverse nature.
DAY 1
- KL Tower: Enjoy the best panoramic view of the city, including the Petronas Twin Towers and 118 Building, all for only 59 MYR. No need to spend 200 MYR to go up the Petronas Twin Towers. (Take a taxi)
- Petronas Twin Towers: A national landmark. Take a taxi to NZ Curry, the best spot for a photo with the Twin Towers in the background. It’s less crowded during the day and bustling at night. (5 minutes walk)
- KLCC Park: Walk through the Twin Towers, and you’ll find KLCC Park. Near the children’s swimming pool, there’s a spot with a whale sculpture where you can capture a photo with the Twin Towers. (Take a taxi)
- Xin Feng Bak Kut Teh & Ah Hui Bak Kut Teh: Well-known eateries visited by many celebrities, offering flavorful herbal dishes at reasonable prices. (10 minutes walk)
- Bukit Bintang: A hub of shopping centers; Lot 10 Mall’s top floor provides a bustling street view. (5 minutes walk)
- Jalan Alor: A lively street market with vibrant nightlife and a variety of delicious food. (On the street)
- Wong Ah Wah Snack Shop: Famous for salted egg yolk squid, the signature grilled chicken wings are average. Find your own seating; no need to wait in line.
DAY 2
- Jamek Mosque: The oldest mosque, featuring unique Indo-Islamic red brick architecture. Robes and skirts are provided at the entrance for tourists wearing shorts. (5 minutes walk)
- Sultan Abdul Samad Building: Exquisite castle-like architecture, also known as the Malaysian Big Ben. (1 minute walk)
- Merdeka Square: A stamp of time, built to commemorate Malaysia’s independence from British rule. A classic photo spot. (1 minute walk)
- City Gallery: The “I ❤️ KL” sculpture is here. (10 minutes walk)
- Central Market: An indoor market, a gathering place for local Malaysian souvenirs. (Inside the market)
- Grandma’s Nyonya Cuisine: A must-try Nyonya restaurant with elegant decor and delicious food. (5 minutes walk)
- Petaling Street: Kuala Lumpur’s Chinatown. Many must-try places such as Kim Lian Kee, Lai Foong Restaurant, Nam Heong Chicken Rice, Heun Kee Claypot Chicken Rice, and Yung Kee. (1 minute walk)
- Guandi Temple: A center of Chinese beliefs. (1 minute walk)
- Marianman Temple: An Indian temple with exquisite architecture. (15 minutes walk)
- National Mosque: The largest mosque in Southeast Asia, displaying a solemn and dignified exterior. (15 minutes walk)
- National Museum: 5 MYR entrance fee, four exhibition halls offering insights into Malaysia’s past and present. (Take a taxi)
- Chow Kit Market: The durians sold by the uncle at Chow Kit Market are incredibly cheap, and sometimes you even get one for free.
Accommodation
- Seek Hotel Kuala Lumpur ¥600: A high-end hotel under the Marriott brand, featuring an infinity pool. Three subway stations are within a 5-minute walk. The breakfast is delicious and abundant.
