Main Island Activities: Skydiving + Photoshoot for over 1600 USD, Shark Snorkeling, Sunset Cruise, Jungle Ziplining + Cave Exploration, Cloud9 Floating Bar with a 60 USD consumption voucher.
340 + 135 + 92 + 66 + 95 + 142 = 870 USD
The prices I booked were cheaper than on Taobao. Honestly, their pricing strategy is quite aggressive, but it’s purely based on volume.
Skydiving is highly recommended; the scenery is even more beautiful than jumping in Pattaya and Dubai. However, the plane is super small, narrow in the back, and can only accommodate four people, making it a bit cramped. If you are nearsighted, be cautious with framed glasses; it’s advisable to wear contact lenses. Booking online is cheaper than on-site, but keep in mind there is no filming on-site, only handheld, which may feel a bit lacking.
Two people take off together. If you are alone, you need to join others. I was lucky and found a beautiful Chinese girl on the second day. (Initially, the staff said it might be postponed for a few days). Upon arrival, sign the documents and use a van to reach Nadi Airport. If it’s the morning flight, you may wait for about 30 minutes at Nadi Airport (the first flight needs to check the engine and start the heating).
Shark snorkeling is fantastic and highly recommended. Take a boat to Kuata Island for about two hours. If you have the physical ability, it is recommended to try deep diving. Both activities allow you to experience without a diving certificate (although I have OW and AOW). I signed up for snorkeling and bull shark diving. Snorkeling takes about 25 minutes to the diving point, and diving takes about 15 minutes. Both are on a small speedboat with a crew member and a coach. The waves in the middle of the sea are quite large, like a roller coaster. It can be exhilarating but less fun if you get seasick. The boat ride back was a bit challenging for one brother who got seasick, and he ended up snorkeling for only two minutes before going ashore, vomiting four times, and finally asking me to communicate with the crew to gather everyone back to the island. Snorkeling is about 20 minutes, equipment is provided, but I brought my own for hygiene reasons. You are not allowed to bring your phone, but you can bring a GoPro or buy one from the staff. There is also on-site shooting for about 70 Fijian dollars. I was the only one diving, so it was just me and the crew coach, but seeing the sharks was so exciting.
Returning to the island includes a buffet lunch, which includes stir-fried noodles and curry, which taste good. After playing, I went to bed after eating, and the small boat picked us up to the pier at about 3 o’clock.
Captain Cook Sunset Cruise: It’s quite atmospheric and enjoyable, with welcoming songs and dances on board, welcome drinks, and champagne. The boat sets sail for about 15 minutes, and you can see the sunset on the sea. I was very lucky to meet a beautiful Chinese girl who took photos and had dinner together.
The sunset lasts about 10 minutes, and then you can return to the cabin for dinner. It is a buffet with local vegetarian dishes (tasting like eating a cactus in your throat) and beef, which is okay. The staff will ask you what you want to drink, and you need to pay separately at the bar, with two juices costing 16 Fijian dollars. After dinner, there is a performance on the first floor, where locals dance in grass skirts, and Europeans and Americans are as lively as ever.
Jungle Ziplining + Cave Exploration: I booked Momi Zipline Tour. There are a total of two zip lines, the other one is in the national park, with older facilities, and my friend said the experience is average. The one I went to is new and quite fun. There are more than 60 zip lines round trip. There is almost no walking path up the mountain; you can only pass through zip lines. There are two staff members with you, one glides over to pick you up, and the other helps you fasten the safety rope. If you’re afraid, they’ll hug you while sliding. It was quite fun to slide back and forth in the mountains like monkeys, and you could see the sea at the top of the mountain. In the cave, there were bats everywhere, and the staff stayed for 5 minutes to tell you stories (I didn’t understand, not sure what they were saying). Later, slide back, and some cables have angles and lengths, quite fast. Gloves were rubbed out of taste. If it’s essential, you may not be able to brake, but the staff will catch you. Note: Activities are quite wild. For snorkeling, there is a coach, but it’s more like playing on your own, with no safety ropes like in Southeast Asia. For ziplining, the staff even let you release your hands for more speed.
Cloud9 Floating Bar: There are two bars, and C9 is the old and famous Seventh Heaven. It’s new, large, accommodating about 180 people, but it’s often vacant. The bar talks about the atmosphere or spaciousness, depending on personal preference. Unfortunately, I didn’t go; the afternoon session was canceled, losing 1000 is a small matter, a bit regrettable, but it doesn’t matter. I will go there later.
A girl who has been there said that the atmosphere in the bar is indeed good and quite lively. White girls and kids will help and encourage you to pick up water. Jumping into the sea, they will pick you up and hand you a life jacket. In short, it is highly recommended!
